Salvation is the greatest gift God has ever offered to mankind. Through faith in Jesus Christ — His death, burial, and resurrection — every person can be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal life. This page walks you through what the Bible says about how to receive that free gift.

We Are All Sinners

The first step to salvation is understanding our need for it. The Bible is clear that every person has sinned and falls short of God's perfect standard.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." — Romans 3:23

Sin separates us from God — and left unaddressed, it leads to spiritual death. But God, in His infinite love and mercy, did not leave us without hope.

The Penalty of Sin

Sin carries a consequence. The wages — what sin earns — is death. Not just physical death, but eternal separation from God. This is the sobering reality the Bible presents so that we understand how serious sin truly is.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." — Romans 6:23

God's Love and His Plan

Even while we were still sinners, God acted. He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to take the penalty of our sin upon Himself. Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified, died, and was buried — and on the third day, He rose from the dead. His resurrection is the proof of His victory over sin and death.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8

The Steps to Salvation

Salvation is not earned by good works or religion. It is received by faith. Here is how the Bible describes the path to salvation:

  1. Recognize You Are a Sinner Honestly acknowledge before God that you have sinned and that you cannot save yourself. Repentance begins with humility before the Lord.
  2. Believe in Your Heart Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead. This is not just head knowledge — it is a heartfelt trust.
  3. Confess with Your Mouth The Bible says that if you confess Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart, you shall be saved. Speak it out — to God in prayer, and to others in testimony.
  4. Call Upon the Name of the Lord Pray to God. Ask Him to forgive your sins, thank Jesus for dying in your place, and invite the Holy Spirit into your life. God hears every sincere prayer.
"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." — Romans 10:9

A Prayer of Salvation

There are no magic words required — God looks at the heart. But if you would like a guide, here is a simple prayer you can pray right now:

"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You died for my sins and rose again from the dead. I repent of my sins and I ask You to come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Amen."

If you prayed that prayer sincerely, welcome to the family of God! We encourage you to download a copy of the Bible and begin reading in the Gospel of John. We would also love to hear from you — reach out to us and let us know about your decision.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
— John 3:16
